Pasadena Police Department Awarded $130,000 For Anti DUI Campaign

Pasadena is the latest city to receive a safety grant for anti-DUI efforts. The Pasadena Police Department was awarded $136,370 to thwart drunk drivers. The city is already planning DUI Saturation Patrols on December 13, 2013, followed by a DUI Checkpoint on December 20, 2013 from 8:00 pm until 3:00 am at an undisclosed location.

This is just the latest safety grant awarded by the California Office of Traffic Safety. This holiday we expect to see a record number of DUI Checkpoints across the state. From San Diego to Napa, cities have received millions of dollars to assist with saturation patrols and task forces dedicated to stopping drunk drivers. The holidays are the second most popular time to receive a DUI, following only the summer months. This year’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” summer campaign was one of the most successful to date.
