Former DA Convicted Of Multiple DUIs Faces License Suspension

Marc Anthony Guillory, a former District Attorney with San Bernardino and San Francisco faces suspension of his bar license after receiving multiple DUI convictions over his lifetime. In 1999, Guillory was the driver in a tragic crash that resulted in the death of his cousin. He entered a plea to reckless driving with alcohol involved. In December of 2007, after being admitted to practice law six years earlier, Guillory was arrested for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of .18%. He was subsequently convicted. Shortly thereafter, while still on probation, the former DA was again arrested for driving under the influence with a BAC of .15%. He entered a plea in March of 2010. On Christmas Eve of 2011, Guillory was again arrested for driving under the influence after he was found passed out at an intersection with the engine running.

Unfortunately, substance abuse is a reality for many attorneys and other professionals. Mr. Guillory had successfully prosecuted numerous drunk driving cases. Many times we expect that those prosecuting cases are removed from the potential to break the law. The reality is that driving under the influence is a common offense that affects nearly every demographic. If you hold a professional license you could face the loss of your job and your livelihood.
