A SAN DIEGO RESIDENT HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE AS WELL AS OTHER CHARGES AFTER HE STOLE THE SHERIFF’S CRUISER AND LED POLICE ON A 23 MILE CHASE.

According to the San Diego 10 News, 30-year-old Sean Michael Webber stole a police car at around 9:45am Sunday morning, on the corner of Midland and Twin Peaks roads. Officers were standing near the vehicle when Webber jumped in and drove off. A pursuit began immediately after Webber stole the vehicle with the assistance of a sheriff’s helicopter crew as the California Highway Patrol. The 23 mile, 38-minute chase ended when Webber drove to the end of a cul-de-sac in the Carmel Valley area, barreled through a fence, then came back towards officers before he exited the still-moving car and surrendered.

Officers arrested Webber took him to the San Diego Central Jail where he is being held on a $50,000 bail. Webber was booked on suspicion of felony evading, felony theft of an on-call emergency vehicle, misdemeanor drunken driving and misdemeanor driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
